Honduras Ministries exists to nurture the spiritual and physical needs of the people of Honduras through education, a unique child enrichment program, and rural community development. We operate in the ultra-poor communities throughout rural Honduras; communities that are forgotten, ignored, and abandoned by their government. The people of these communities live on less than $1.50 a day and are among the most impoverished people in the world. Honduras currently ranks as the fourth poorest country in the western hemisphere, barely edging out its neighbors; Nicaragua, Guatemala, and El Salvador (cite source). Starvation, death from disease, and human trafficking are just some of the realities the people in these communities deal with on a daily basis. We believe that through our partnership with the local church, we can make a difference.

Our long term goal is to see communities transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to break the bonds of systematic poverty and oppression that are prevalent in these communities. To aid in our long- term goal, we partnered with local pastors and community leaders to identify and address the immediate needs that are vital to our mission. We address the immediate needs of the communities we operate in through two main venues: monthly food supplements and family care. Each family receives enough food to feed four people each month. This ensures that the children in our program and their families have enough food to sustain themselves. Family care is an all-encompassing term that covers a wide range of ministry opportunities. Medical brigades, counseling, basic hygiene instruction, and nutrition classes are just some of the areas we address. The goal of family care is to give each child the best chance of success possible.
