What We Believe
We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is co-equal with the Father. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death, ascended to Heaven’s glory, and will return to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. His presence in the world makes men aware of their sinful state and their need for salvation through Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living a Christian life, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in spiritual growth. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, He makes us aware of our continuous need to grow in wisdom and knowledge of our Savior and God.
We believe the Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit and is the supreme source from which we receive all the knowledge we need to understand who God is and to follow His plan for our lives.
We believe people are the crowning object of God’s creation and because of God’s great love for us, He created us in His own spiritual image. Although every person has the God-given potential for good, we were also given the ability to choose right from wrong. The first man, Adam, made a choice of disobedience and brought about an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” The result of sin not only separated man from God but caused a broken and evil world. Our only means of salvation is, by faith, accepting the grace of God’s forgiveness.
We believe salvation from sin is God’s free gift to us and as with any gift, it becomes ours only when we accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. When we turn from our self-ruled life and accept Jesus as Savior by faith we are saved. To accept Christ, one must repent from sin, confess his faith, and be baptized into Him.
We believe God created us to exist forever to fellowship with Him. We have the choice to either exist eternally separated from God by sin or to be eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from a loving God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is the glory of an eternal life of joy and peace. Our belief in a Heaven for Christians and a Hell for non-believers gives an urgency to our mission.
